MACCABI Victoria Netball Club players are feeling pumped about finally being able to play competition matches again from this weekend, in what will be a six-week, post-lockdown round-robin season.

Club co-president Natalie Dodge said their preparation has been as good as it could be.

“From the start of the sixth Melbourne lockdown, we switched our training sessions to Zoom until the restrictions eased, and it was a good way to stay connected online,” she said.

“Then on October 26, the club was able to resume on-court team training sessions at Duncan McKinnon Reserve (pictured), and the juniors in particular loved being back together outdoors, playing netball in the sunshine.”

Head coach Tali Friede ran the last two training sessions in person and online, so that players unable to attend could still join in from home.

“After months of competition postponement, our players are so looking forward to this weekend,” Dodge said.
