‘Making a meaningful difference’

JNF Australia has committed to 22 individual projects to heal Israel’s south, which include mental health support, rehabilitation, trauma therapy and resilience programs.

For decades, JNF Australia has directly supported life-changing projects for those communities on Israel’s borders, helping them thrive despite ongoing challenges. These include restoring homes, schools and vital services, creating safe, thriving spaces for families and children, supporting mental health programs to help communities heal, rebuilding industries and securing economic stability.

“We are deeply grateful to our loyal supporters, whose trust enables JNF Australia to fund vital projects that directly and positively impact the lives of families in Israel’s border communities,” said JNF Australia’s national president Steven Salamon.

“Their unwavering commitment allows us to continue making a meaningful difference where it’s needed most.”

Every project JNF Australia undertakes is done so in close collaboration with those on the ground in order to ensure the most urgent priorities are addressed.

Some of the many projects include the expansion of the Healing Space in Rishpon, which provides critical support for those recovering from trauma – including survivors of the Nova festival – and the restoration of the playground in Kibbutz Holit.

“The children’s happiness is one of the most important things to return to Holit. Thank you for helping us with this,” said Oren Zvada.

JNF Australia is also supporting the Beit Nova project, a community healing centre for survivors of the October 7 attack. The centre will offer a wide range of activities designed to reduce trauma, foster resilience and build empowerment among survivors.

Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak, known for its high-quality educational systems, is working hard to attract new families to the region and supporting the community with a safe educational environment for all ages. JNF Australia has supported this project through the completion of the communal meeting room, which includes a dining area, kitchen, theatre, games room, as well as a music studio.

JNF Australia’s 2025 campaign is about a rebirth, revival and a new beginning for those communities so devastated by October 7. This year it will support border communities in Israel’s north and south through specific projects that directly impact the people and land of Israel.
