Making Glen Eira bloom
Boasting a collection of native Israeli flora, the initiative was spearheaded by Zionism Victoria, on behalf of its 60 affiliates, in partnership with the Council.
From making the desert bloom to making Glen Eira bloom.
Planting began this week on the Israel 75 Peace Garden next to the Glen Eira Town Hall, commemorating the Jewish State’s landmark anniversary.
Boasting a collection of native Israeli flora, the initiative was spearheaded by Zionism Victoria, on behalf of its 60 affiliates, in partnership with the Council.
The garden is a gift from Zionism Victoria to the people and City of Glen Eira, the local government area with one of the largest Jewish communities in Australia.
It is set to be officially opened by Zionism Victoria president Yossi Goldfarb and Glen Eira mayor Jim Magee later this month.
Zionism Victoria executive director Zeddy Lawrence said, “A flowering celebration of Israel’s 75 years and a symbol of the friendship between our community and council, we’re tremendously grateful to all the team at Glen Eira Town Hall who have helped make the garden a reality.”
