“OLDER, wiser and more experienced” North Sydney swimmer Matt Levy proudly posted on Instagram on arrival in Tokyo ahead of his fifth consecutive Paralympics.

At 34, the two-time gold medal winner is the oldest member of Australia’s 33-strong swim squad in Tokyo, and also a keen team mentor.

He will compete in three events, starting this Saturday morning with the men’s SB6 class 100 breaststroke heats.

“In Tokyo, I want to lead by example in my actions, both in and out of the pool,” said Levy.

Australia’s Chef de Mission, Kate McLoughlin, said the team will play its part “in a great global celebration of the human spirit”.
