In the lead-up to Rosh Hashanah, the United Jewish Education Board (UJEB) put on its annual “Meet the beekeeper” morning, held in the Beth Weizmann Community Centre’s urban garden. Jonathan Landis from Chevra Honey brought along a hive buzzing with bees, and the more than 25 inquisitive children learnt all about where honey comes from, how the bees make the honey and even had the opportunity to taste fresh honey straight from the comb.

Itzik Sztokman, executive principal of UJEB, said, “It’s always wonderful to be able to bring members of the community together, especially the children, on these occasions leading up to Rosh Hashanah and the High Holy Days.”
