Mazal tov to Bialik College for topping the state in VCE results and to Mount Scopus which came in second!!!! A huge well done to all the Jewish schools …. Beth Rivkah came in sixth and King David came in fourteenth. Leibler Yavneh came twenty-fifth, while Yeshivah came fifty-second.

Stressing, “Success is measured by far more than VCE,” Bialik described coming first in the state as “an unprecedented achievement for the third time in five years,” adding, “This achievement is an indicator (not the indicator) of the incredible success of our year 12 cohort, which we measure by their resilience, support of each other, menschlichkeit and effort.”

Congratulating all students and staff, Mount Scopus principal Rabbi James Kennard said, “What a testament to our Jewish schools and to their students, who have overcome such adversity to achieve so much.”

He added, “VCEs are only a poor snapshot of a young person’s accomplishments, and these rankings are only a poor snapshot of VCEs. But nevertheless it is truly gratifying to see such hard work acknowledged in this way.”
