Michael Danby advocates for “people power” to “kill the bill”

Our first guest tonight is former Federal Labor MP Michael Danby, continuing the very important discussion on the new proposed Public Health and Wellbeing Amendment (Pandemic Management) 2021 for Victoria. Michael didn’t mince his words, excoriating the Daniel Andrews Labor party grab, for complete, total power, that the proposed bill would present. In times of emergencies, it is for Parliament to discuss and decide the appropriate course of action, not one or two authoritarian individuals with concentrated power, which goes against everything we believe in. The president of the Victorian Bar has slammed the State’s new pandemic legislation as “appalling”. Top lawyers say the Victorian government’s proposed pandemic laws will give politicians “a blank cheque to rule by decree”; and run counter to basic democratic principles.
