This past Friday night, Caulfield Shule joined together with the Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC) to host a memorial service in honour of the seven victims of the recent terror attack outside the Ateret Avraham synagogue in Jerusalem.

The memorial service was held before the Kabbalat Shabbat service and included members of the community lighting seven candles in memory of the seven lives lost.

Dr Dvir Abramovich addressed the congregation, speaking about the importance of combating antisemitism, and chazan Aaron Max and the Caulfield Shule Chevra choir recited a prayer for Israel.

Rabbi Daniel Rabin shared reflections on the tragedy and offered words of comfort to those in attendance.

“We stand together in mourning for the lives lost in this terrible tragedy,” said Rabbi Rabin.

“We must never forget the victims and their families and continue to work towards a world where such violence and hatred is no longer tolerated.”
