Netanyahu: Hamas is like ISIS
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has likened Hamas to ISIS on Thursday morning (Australian time).
He made the comparison only one day after ISIS shocked the world by releasing a video that showed a American journalist being beheaded.
“They are the enemies of peace, they are the enemies of Israel, they are the enemies of all civilised countries and I believe they are the enemies of the Palestinian themselves,” Netanyahu said.
“When they can, they murder children and teenagers.”
At the same time a senior Hamas official admitted for the first time that Hamas’ armed wing, the Kassam Brigades, is responsible for the kidnapping and murder of Israeli teenagers Nafatli Fraenkel, Gil-Ad Shaer and Eyal Yifrah.
The three were kidnapped in June, we was a trigger for the current campaign, and their bodies were later found.
Hamas’ Salah al-Aruri praised the “heroic action of the Kassam Brigades who kidnapped three settlers in Hebron” during a conference with Islamic clerics in Turkey.
Rocket fire continued overnight in Israel and reports mounted that IDF ground forces were preparing to go into Gaza again.
Netanyahu said: ““We will continue until the goal is reached.”
