Exciting news on the expansion of the campus and the arrival of the new head of the early learning centre, was recently announced at Sholem Aleichem College.

The school has purchased the property next to its existing campus, located in Elsternwick.

Saul Milner, Sholem Aleichem College president said, “This acquisition marks a significant milestone in our long-term vision for growth and development while enhancing our collaboration with the broader community.”

Around the same time, Robyn Licenblat was welcomed by the school community to the role of head of the early learning centre.

“My approach to education is aligned with unlocking a person’s greater capacity to contribute, trust in themselves and excel,” Licenblat said.

“While this may sometimes require struggle and challenge, it also creates a perfect environment for growth, self-efficacy and confidence. We are not simply educating young people; we are creating environments to develop confident and future-ready contributors to community who are also ‘mentshn’ and upstanding citizens,” she added.

Licenblat has 30 years’ experience educating children and leading teams to create free thinkers who have a love for learning.

She echoes the school value that says, “…students not only achieve academic excellence but also develop a strong sense of self and community”.

Community in education is more than just people and spaces, it is a philosophy of learning, a way of caring and an unwavering support to be the best version one can be.

Milner believes the new space will enhance the college’s educational environment by enabling expanded programs and new facilities, fostering a vibrant learning community.

The enviable location next to the Melbourne Holocaust Museum and the Kadimah Jewish Cultural Centre offers students unique cultural experiences that further a commitment to a lifelong love of learning and foster future community leaders.

“With this expansion, we are excited about the enhanced new facilities that will bring enormous benefits to our students and families.

“Our focus will also be on creating innovative educational opportunities that align with our vision of excellence in Jewish education,” Milner added.
