New graduates ready to save lives

This month, Hatzolah proudly celebrate the graduation of 10 new Hatzolah community emergency responders, marking a significant milestone in its ongoing commitment to the safety and wellbeing of the Melbourne community.
These dedicated individuals have completed months of rigorous training and observation, and they are now fully equipped and prepared to answer the call.
Since their graduation, they have already responded to real emergencies, saving lives from the moment they stepped into their roles acting within minutes.
What makes this achievement even more special is the success of Hatzolah’s recent end-of-financial-year campaign, which played a pivotal role in bringing this project to fruition.
A goal was set to raise funds to equip these recruits with vital lifesaving tools, including fully stocked responder bags and defibrillators, and thanks to the generosity of the community, they succeeded in raising the necessary funds within the given timeline.
This is a clear example of what can be achieved when working together, united by a shared purpose, supporting each other’s safety and wellbeing.
For nearly 30 years, Hatzolah Melbourne has been a lifeline for the community, providing rapid emergency medical response, health education and critical support during times of crisis.
Their team of dedicated volunteers is available 24/7, bridging the gap between the onset of an emergency and the arrival of professional services.
This ensures timely, lifesaving care when moments matter.
While preparing to celebrate Hatzolah’s 30th anniversary next year, there is reflection on three decades of lifesaving work, care and dedication to Melbourne’s Jewish community.
Guided by the timeless teaching from The Talmud: “Whoever saves one life, it is as if they have saved the entire world,” Hatzolah remain committed to ensuring that every life in their care is protected.
In February, a major fundraising campaign will launch to further strengthen resources and expand its reach, ensuring they can continue this vital work for decades to come.
