As an Australia Day Ambassador, Australia/Israel & Jewish Affairs Council (AIJAC) director of international and community affairs Jeremy Jones gave the main speech at the celebration and citizenship ceremony in Gundagai last Wednesday.

“The theme for this year’s Australia Day was listening to each others stories,” Jones told The AJN.

“And I told a very Jewish story of my family history, but also the current challenges in fighting racism and building interfaith dialogue.

“The reception was overwhelmingly positive, with many present affirming their strong support for Jewish communities around the world at a time of visible antisemitism.”
