MISS UNIVERSE

Pageant participant heading to Eilat

The 27-year-old from Melbourne posted, “Had such a great chat with Mr Gerstenfeld today! I learnt a lot about Israeli culture and I’m so excited to attend the 70th Miss Universe competition in Eilat.”

MISS Universe Australia, Daria Varlamova, met last week with the Israeli embassy’s Ron Gerstenfeld who shared some travel tips with the model before she flies to Eilat for the Miss Universe pageant in the coming weeks.

The contest is being held in the Red Sea resort on December 12.

The 27-year-old from Melbourne posted, “Had such a great chat with Mr Gerstenfeld today! I learnt a lot about Israeli culture and I’m so excited to attend the 70th Miss Universe competition in Eilat.”

As The AJN reported last week, the South African government urged their contestant Lalela Mswane to boycott the event. However, she declined to back out.

The contest, the first ever being held in Israel, will also feature participants from the United Arab Emirates and Morocco, the former country taking part for the first time, and the latter for the first time in decades.
