Picture perfect present for Michelle

BUSINESS analyst Michelle Marcus celebrated her 30th birthday last year with a four-week holiday to Canada with her best friend, Danielle Swimmer.

It was Swimmer who took the photo of her at Lake Louise, admiring the snow-capped mountains, that won our annual holiday photo competition.

Marcus wins a prize of a three-day holiday at the luxury Hayman resort in the Whitsundays.

“We had a great trip travelling to Vancouver, the Rockies, Calgary and Montreal. It’s such a beautiful country and we took thousands of photos,” said Marcus, who lives in South Yarra.

The prize for the best sunset photo was won by Gavin Queit, who snapped a scene at St Kilda Beach last December.

“I saw the weather was clouding over, so I grabbed my camera and headed for the beach,” said Queit, a keen amateur photographer.

The former head of Victoria’s Community Security Group is looking forward to his prize of a three-night stay at the five-star Hyatt Regency Coolum resort on the Sunshine Coast.

The competition was judged by a panel and AJN readers. There was also a prize for a lucky voter — Lisa Friedland of Caulfield South won a three-night stay at the Peppers Coral Coast resort in Airlie Beach in the Whitsundays.
