More than 50 people attended Maccabi NSW Lawn Bowls Guild’s AGM and movie night at Double Bay Bowling Club on February 27, when a special awards ceremony took place.

The highlight of the evening was Louis Platus being presented with the Bernie Garden Recognition Award by last year’s winner Shmuel Abrahams.

Platus also received a Maccabi Lawn Bowls Life Membership on the night, and a standing ovation.

The Guild’s new committee was also elected, with Jacques Hasson as president, and Julian Cass and Francis Raines as vice-presidents.
