IT’S been an action-packed summer so far for Maccabi-AJAX Junior Cricket Club, which has been able to field 16 teams – including two girls’ sides – resulting in a record 167 participants.

After 5 rounds of the 13-round Inner South East Cricket junior competition, the club’s U17B team is coming second.

In round 4, Nadav Lowinger scored an unbeaten 57 off 44 balls to guide Maccabi to a dominant win over Malvern/Carnegie.

Lior Meyerowitz bowled a devastating spell of 3/6 to help secure the 88-run victory.

And in round 5 last Sunday, Ben Casper scored an unbeaten 59 to lead Maccabi to a 7-wicket win over Mckinnon. The club’s U15 Titans have earned a promotion to A Grade – one of the top U15 competitions in the state – and are currently sitting in 5th place.

Maccabi’s U13 Chargers and U13 Colts remain undefeated, and are on top of their respective A and B grade ladders.
