Return to Labassa

Anyone with memories of or at the 19th century National Trust mansion Labassa is being asked to come and share their memories of the house.

The return to Labassa will be on Sunday, May 7 between 11am and 3pm for former owners, residents and their descendants.

Labassa, at 2 Manor Grove, Caulfield North is a 19th-century National Trust mansion that was converted into 10 flats in 1920. Over 700 people have called Labassa home and its residents are now spread far and wide.

All the owners from 1946 onwards; Lapin, Aisen, Glickman and Kazer were Jewish refugees, and it was home to Jewish Holocaust survivors from 1950 to 1965.

Event organisers are also asking for the return of any decorative items that were taken from Labassa as mementos.
