Rosalie Silverstein OAM – Working for Children with Special Needs

Maurice Klein speaks with Rosalie Silverstein OAM, who manages the Jewish Children’s Aid Society’s (JCAS) iconic Posh Opp Shoppes in Elsternwick and Glenhuntly. The goal of the JCAS and the Posh Opp Shoppes is supporting the Melbourne Jewish Day Schools to include students with a disability into their mainstream classrooms. Every Jewish child has a right to a Jewish education regardless of their special needs. The feeling of belonging and inclusion into the community is paramount to success for special needs children and their families. In addition and just as importantly, a whole generation of school children are educated to embrace differences and welcome children into the community. There are four ways to support the Posh Opp Shoppes: Volunteering, Donate Pre-Loved Goods, Donating directly to JCAS at www.jcas.org.au and of course, shopping for some bargains at the Posh Opp Shoppes. You are a blessing angel Rosalie!
