WITH in-person simchas back in business, Mount Scopus Memorial College year 6 bat mitzvah girls came to school early for a special Rosh Chodesh service in recent weeks. The girls got the chance to read from the Torah and took turns leading the tefillah, many delivering their own Dvar Torah in honour of becoming bat mitzvah.

Following tefillah, they enjoyed a celebratory breakfast with their teachers, excited to be together again after months of home learning. This was followed by an art activity which saw students make chanukiot, which they will light with their families at the upcoming chag.

Kabbalat Shabbat and an Israeli music workshop completed the special morning.
