Mount Scopus Memorial College is delighted that two of its recent graduates have been awarded Premier’s VCE Awards.

Judah Goldfarb and Zachary Goldman both received Premier’s VCE Awards for Religion and Society, based on their excellent subject results in 2023.

Principal Dan Sztrajt said, “Mount Scopus is incredibly proud of our students whose outstanding results are a wonderful tribute to their efforts and dedication, as well as to the expertise and support of their teachers.”

Premier’s Awards are presented to Victoria’s top students by the Department of Education. Awards are based on students’ VCE results, with the number of awards determined by the number of students in each subject.

Goldman said he felt incredibly proud, yet shocked, when he heard that he had received a Premier’s Award.

“Having poured hours into the subject throughout the year, and especially before the exam, it felt gratifying to hear the news,” Goldman said.

He went on to say, “My favourite subjects in school were Religion and Society, and Legal Studies.”

Goldman sent equal congratulations to the teachers at Mount Scopus, in particular, “Ms Richardson”, whose dedication to her students was as unwavering as her classes were engaging.

His plans for future education focus on studying law and politics, philosophy and economics next year at Monash University.

“I am taking a gap year abroad this year,” he said.
