Star speakers added

"This is a time to support Israel with clarity, consistency, and strength, not only because it is right, but because it is in the best interests of global peace and security."

Two more speakers have been added to JCA’s already stellar lineup for its 2024 campaign event, which is expected to be a sellout.

Australian foreign minister from 1996 to 2007 Alexander Downer will interview the former prime minister of Canada, Stephen Harper. Both are committed friends and allies of the Jewish community, locally and globally.

Harper wrote last month in Canada’s National Post, “Almost exactly 10 years ago, I addressed the Israeli Knesset. I said the Canada I represented would stand with Israel ‘through fire and water’. I meant it, and the Canadians I spoke for believe it still, as do hundreds of millions like us all over the world.

“Antisemitism and anti-Zionism are always the proverbial canaries in the coal mine. Those who embrace such tribal and sectarian hatreds will invariably, in time, aim their guns well beyond the Jewish people.

“This is, in short, a time to support Israel with clarity, consistency, and strength, not only because it is right, but because it is in the best interests of global peace and security.”

Downer, meanwhile, has seen the increase in terror around the world and orchestrated significant reforms to combat its influence in addition to playing a pivotal role in Australia’s response to the Middle East conflicts.

He has earned respect around the world and has enhanced Australia’s position in the global fraternity.

Downer and Harper will join previously announced speakers Dr Sharon Nazarian, who will deliver the keynote address, and Nova Peris, who travelled to Israel this week.

Guests are encouraged to book now to avoid disappointment, and to book together should they wish to be seated together.
