The Gandel Holocaust Studies Program for Australian Educators has announced the appointment of Sue Hampel as its new chair in 2025.
The Gandel Holocaust Studies Program for Australian Educators is a long-term professional development program aimed at training a cadre of expert Holocaust educators who are active throughout Australia.
To date, Gandel Foundation, along with its partners including B’nai B’rith and its education partner, Yad Vashem, is proud to have provided around 500 teachers with scholarships to participate in this program.
Hampel is a distinguished educator, advocate and leader and brings a depth of experience and passion to the role.
A recipient of the Medal of the Order of Australia for her outstanding service to education and the promotion of tolerance, Hampel has spent decades shaping Holocaust education across Australia and internationally.
