A MESSAGE FROM MACCABI NSW PRESIDENT LAUREN EHRLICH

It’s time to dust off your sporting equipment, find your shoes, wash your uniforms and get ready to return to the field or court.Yes, sport is happening again, and we’re all itching to get back to it!

Several Maccabi clubs are organising a short season, or activities, to see us through to the end of 2021.

Preparations are also underway for the winter sport season in 2022.

It’s important to remember that community sport plays such a vital role in promoting physical and mental health, and building social engagement.

Despite their own struggles, many clubs have offered subsidised memberships and mental health support to their members, to maintain engagement and morale during these difficult times.

It’s part of keeping our community together, and why we should register for the upcoming season, and breathe that freedom we used to take for granted.

Maccabiah trials are also being scheduled for team sports this summer.

Two important events to diarise are Maccabi Life’s Memory Walk and Jog in partnership with Dementia Australia on October 24 at Centennial Park, and Maccabi’s MS Swimathon on November 7.

You can register for either event by going to bit.ly/2YWydJ9.

On behalf of Maccabi NSW, I wish you all a fabulous season of sport with fair play, team work, and safe practices.
