Tailored training
The social enterprise has recognised that tailored training before entering employment is critical and has begun to expand this through its cooking school.
All Things Equal (ATE), a hospitality social enterprise based in Balaclava, has become known for its commitment to creating and advocating for employment for people with disability in the local community.
This experience has led ATE to consider the ways it can expand the opportunities available.
The social enterprise has recognised that tailored training before entering employment is critical and has begun to expand this through its cooking school.
When Access Inc. – an educational service that celebrated the diverse strengths and capabilities of people with a disability – closed, ATE decided to integrate many of Access’s methods and elements of its hospitality educational framework, into its pre-employment program, an extension of the ATE cooking school.
ATE is committed to maintaining Access’ values of care, inclusivity and accessibility, and honours the legacy created by the organisation; one that has been embedded in the community for the past 36 years.
All Things Equal applauds collaboration across the sector and welcomes it in all its forms.
It is confident that this transition will not only preserve the essence of many services that Access provided in the past but will also foster innovation and collaboration as ATE continues to build a more inclusive and supportive community for people with disability.
