Tribute and celebrations
"Lag b'Omer is a day of unity and Ahavat Yisrael, and also a day of blessing."
CHILDREN at Sydney’s Shul were treated to a bonfire, magic show, crafts, music and much more to celebrate Lag b’Omer.
Among the festivities was a special tribute to the 45 Mount Meron victims, with a “Mitzvah for Meron” wall.
Children had the opportunity to write a mitzvah and good deed they will do in memory of the 45 victims of Meron. The children wrote their mitzvah on a small note in the shape of a flame, and placed it on the wall, creating a shining tribute of little flames and mitzvot for the memory of the 45 victims.
“Lag b’Omer is a day of unity and Ahavat Yisrael, and also a day of blessing,” said Rabbi Chaim Levy.
“What better way to celebrate than by bringing children together to rejoice and do acts of goodness and kindness for one another.”
