THE Jewish community and family members have paid tribute to Rhonda Triguboff, 76, who passed away peacefully at her home in Sydney on Sunday after a terminal illness.

In a statement, the Triguboff family described Rhonda, wife of Sydney business icon and philanthropist Harry Triguboff, as “a loving partner to Harry for 44 wonderful years and a devoted stepmother to Sharon and Orna”.

“Their bond was a testament to her caring nature and dedication to family.

“She was a much loved member of the Triguboff family, having married Harry in 1980 after meeting him when she worked for Meriton in his Sydney offices as an accountant.

“She was passionate about donating to charities associated with children’s health, the wellbeing of animals and nature conservation. Rhonda later made significant contributions to interior design and sales.”

Born and raised in Sydney’s Matraville, Rhonda came from a family of 13 siblings. The family remembered her as “much loved by her many friends and known for her kindness and unpretentious manner”.

“She will be well remembered for her generous spirit, her devotion to family and friends, and her zest for life.

“She often spent her weekends alongside Harry, driving around Meriton’s many apartment sites, having taken a personal interest in his apartment projects and the people who worked with Meriton. Rhonda was an avid golfer, patron of the Meriton Sydney Invitational Golf tournament, and a cherished member of both the Lakes Golf Club and the Australian Golf Club.

She also looked forward to attending the Australian Open tennis each year, where she celebrated her passion for the sport. Her enthusiasm for both golf and tennis will be fondly remembered.”

Harry Triguboff told The AJN, “Rhonda accompanied me many times to Israel and she was most impressed and definitely was the best friend the Jewish people could ever have.”

JNF Israel Emissary Sarah Vanunu noted some of the many KKL-JNF projects in Israel that Rhonda and Harry Triguboff supported from 1993 to the present time. Since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war, these have included an emergency campaign for Gaza border communities, developing the Givat Ram campus of Hebrew University and the Neot Hovav initiative for Bedouin communities.

“Their dedication to diverse initiatives – from environmental restoration to social resilience and educational advancement – reflects their deep commitment to Israel’s future,” Vanunu said.
