SINGER Troye Sivan turned plenty of heads at the Met Gala last month after turning up to the ritzy event clad in a black figure-hugging dress and heels.
The South African-born, Perth-raised Jewish singer-songwriter, who is openly gay, completed the look with a Cartier necklace and black leather armband.
He said of the outfit, “I just wanted to be hot.
“When I think of America, especially New York, I think of chic, I think of black and white, I think of [queer photographer] Robert Mapplethorpe and I think of leather.”

Sivan traded the outfit for a white dress for the gala’s afterparty.
The Angel Baby singer, who bases himself in Melbourne when in Australia, last attended the Met Gala in 2018.
Other notable Jewish celebrities to attend this year included Schitt’s Creek star Dan Levy, actress Hailee Steinfeld, director Taika Waititi, comedian Chloe Fineman, vice-presidential stepdaughter Ella Emhoff and actress Ilana Glazer.
Last year’s gala was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
