(Times of Israel) – Among the hundreds of thousands of soldiers called up to serve in the war against Hamas is actor Tsahi Halevi, who has played a member of Israel’s security forces in Fauda and The Cops.

He’s back in uniform as part of the Inbar unit, a reserve division of the Border Police, which is helping to maintain citizen safety around Israel in the wake of last week’s Hamas terror onslaught.

According to Channel 12, Halevi has been volunteering for years in the unit, made up of military veterans who were in combat units.

The unit was reportedly active in Lod last week, working alongside other security forces.

Halevi’s wife, Arab Israeli television presenter Lucy Aharish, appeared on CNN last week to speak about the Hamas atrocities.

“How can you burn an entire family … how can you do that? This is a genocide,” she said.

Aharish’s emotional message went viral, as she called for unity in Israel.

She also posted a photo of Halevi in uniform on social media, with their toddler son.

“My heart is broken, to see and hear about more and more people who are dear to me, who have received the worst possible news. The heart breaks due to the scenes of destruction and massacre … and there’s no forgiveness,” said Aharish.
