Thousands of Australian Iranians, Jews, Hindus and Christians are anticipated to turn out in force, simultaneously, at peaceful ‘United Against Terrorism’ rallies this Sunday from 2pm (AEST) in the cities of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.

The rallies are organised by Minority Impact – a multicultural alliance supporting democratic values – and are supported by 10 official event partners, including the Australian Jewish Association, Queensland Jewish Collective, Lions of Zion, J-United and Friends of Israel WA.

Other key event partners are Never Again is Now, MehrEran and the Hindu Council of Australia.

The rallies will feature guest speakers, singing of Australia’s anthem, a candlelight vigil and a minute’s silence for victims of terror in Israel, India and Iran.

Minority Impact co-director Azin Naghibi told The AJN that the keen involvement of many grassroots organisations from different faiths “is a reflection of just how important staying united for democracy and peace is”.
