MOSCOW — Vandals have desecrated Jewish gravestones in a Russian cemetery for the third time this year.

Some 60 gravestones were damaged in the Jewish section of the Dmitrovo-Cherkasskoe cemetery in the Tver region, according to the UCSJ: Union of Councils for Jews in the Former Soviet Union.

In July, 60 gravestones were vandalised and in April 21 gravestones were vandalised.

The mayor of Tver said the police have no suspects and that “impunity in many ways inspires new acts of vandalism,” according to UCSJ.

It is unclear from the report if police are investigating the incident as a hate crime.
