The 2024 B’nai B’rith Menorah Awards, celebrated the power of service, bringing together a vibrant gathering to honour those who embody selflessness and compassion.

This year Danielle Schilling, Helen Gelber, Caroline Heard, and Helen Heiman were recognised for their contributions to their communities.

Their stories reflected a commitment to bettering the lives of others, showcasing the transformative impact of volunteerism.

Guest speaker Leon Landau, representing Community First Responders Australia, shared heartfelt reflections on hisjourney in volunteering, from his early experiences working with children with disabilities to his current role leading life-saving initiatives.

He emphasised the lasting connections and purpose that volunteering brings, the pivotal role volunteers achieve in fostering resilience and compassion within communities.

He ended with a quote, “If you think you are too small to be effective, you have never been in bed with a mosquito.”

This encapsulated the spirit of the Menorah Awards, recognising individuals who, regardless of their scale of impact, create ripples of change through their dedication and service.

The B’nai B’rith Menorah Awards continue to illuminate the pathways of hope, inspiring others to contribute meaningfully to their communities.
