PUSH-UP CHALLENGE

‘We are all in this together’

Moriah reached its goal of 3046 push-ups to represent the number of lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2018.

IN a student-led collaboration, Moriah College students recently teamed up with students from King David School in South Africa to raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention.

Hosting a collective push-up challenge, Moriah reached its goal of 3046 push-ups to represent the number of lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2018 – as released in recent data by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

“We as a school have been able to spread awareness of mental illness and suicide prevention with over 10,000 people viewing our social media posts,” said year 12 Moriah student Noah Feilich.

“We are all in this together and you are never alone.”

Collectively, the schools raised over $3000 for Adams Forum to help fight the stigma and raise awareness for mental health.
