We reached our goal of 3046 pushups!!! Alongside our brothers and sisters at King David School in South Africa, we have raised awareness of mental illness and suicide prevention far and wide over the last two weeks. We are so close to our $3000 fundraising goal and the link to donate is below. Thanks to everyone who reposted, donated and got involved with the challenge, none of this would have been possible without you.https://www.gofundme.com/f/moriah-college-push-up-challenge?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_campaign=p_cf+share-flow-1&fbclid=IwAR1Daof4BUB8To-wFiKwFYo0WdieVuig_Wt-ugMt7pXhn4aZTP9cJzdg7j0Posted by Moriah College on Saturday, June 6, 2020
IN a student-led collaboration, Moriah College students recently teamed up with students from King David School in South Africa to raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention.
Hosting a collective push-up challenge, Moriah reached its goal of 3046 push-ups to represent the number of lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2018 – as released in recent data by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
“We as a school have been able to spread awareness of mental illness and suicide prevention with over 10,000 people viewing our social media posts,” said year 12 Moriah student Noah Feilich.
“We are all in this together and you are never alone.”
Collectively, the schools raised over $3000 for Adams Forum to help fight the stigma and raise awareness for mental health.
