We remember Josh
"He was driven by love. Love for this community and the paper, and a desire to do his part to help it be the best it can be," said AJN editor-in-chief Gareth Narunsky said.
Monday, February 3 marked five years since the untimely passing of former AJN CEO Joshua Levi.
An integral part of the publication for well over a decade, Josh held many roles including journalist, deputy editor and CEO.
“Josh was a brilliant journalist and an amazing colleague,” AJN editor-in-chief Gareth Narunsky said.
“I worked with him for many years, and what I observed in Josh is that he was driven by love. Love for this community and the paper, and a desire to do his part to help it be the best it can be.”
Narunsky added, “Josh is still very much a part of The AJN.
“We often think in a situation, how would Josh handle this, what would he do. We still tell funny stories about Josh in the office,” he said. “He is deeply missed.”
Josh’s brother, Ben Levi said, “It’s hard to believe it’s been five years since we lost Josh.
“His big personality, infectious laugh, and the way he filled every room with energy is something we’ll never forget,” Ben said.
“He left a mark on all of us, especially his daughter Lara, who continues to shine with his spirit. We’re also reminded of him in the huge smiles of his nieces and the 34 little Levi and Kraus kids who carry on his legacy.
“Professionally, Josh would have been such a strong advocate of our Jewish community, in recent times. Josh is deeply missed every single day, but his memory will live on in each of us forever.”
