IT seems that long before Harvey Weinstein was outed as a sexual predator, people already didn’t like him.

Actor Elijah Wood, who played Frodo Baggins in the The Lord of the Rings trilogy, has revealed that one of the orcs in the movies was designed to look like the now-disgraced Hollywood mogul, following a fight with director Peter Jackson.

Weinstein, then the executive producer on behalf of Miramax, had insisted the series be produced as one film and also threatened to replace Jackson as director, Wood told the Armchair Expert podcast last week.

Miramax eventually pulled out and New Line made the trilogy we know and love that went on to be a critical and commercial success.

But Jackson found a way to exact his revenge.

“This was recently spoken about because [Merry and Pippin actors] Dom [Monaghan] and Bill [Boyd] … were talking to Sean Astin [who played Samwise] about his first memory of getting to New Zealand,” said Wood.

“He had seen these orc masks. And one of the orc masks – and I remember this vividly – was designed to look like Harvey Weinstein as a sort of a f**k you.”

“I think that is okay to talk about now,” Wood said. “The guy is f**king incarcerated. F**k him.”

Weinstein is serving a 23-year prison sentence for sexual assault and faces additional charges which could land him another 140 years in prison.
