When narrative replaces the truth
We know where this narrative leads: to burning synagogues – and as we have opined – possibly worse.

Wars are fought with bombs and soldiers, but often, narrative is the most potent weapon.
We have seen this munition deployed repeatedly in the past week. In Gaza, it says Israel is blocking aid, leading to a humanitarian catastrophe.
While tragically there no doubt is starvation in parts of Gaza, Israel is not to blame. Aid is waiting at the border for international organisations to distribute it. Instead they accuse the Jewish state of starving innocent civilians by design in breach of international law.
That lie was aided last weekend by the shameful masterclass in public manipulation that was the photo of the supposed starving baby being held by his mother in Gaza.
Who benefits from that narrative? Hamas. With international pressure on Israel, it can continue to prolong the war and hold not just Israel’s hostages but the population of Gaza to ransom.
