‘When you think university, think AUJS’
AUJS has a range of exciting initiatives including Purim parties, balls, Yom Ha'atzmaut events, campus barbeques, games nights and challah bakes.
The Australasian Union of Jewish students (AUJS) is a place for every Jewish student on campus.
“It is here for you, whether it is your first time on a university campus or you are finishing your degree,” said president Natalie Gunn.
“We all know how intimidating the first day of O-Week (orientation week) and university can be, so we will be starting our year off with an online event for first-year students. This event will be a great way to meet other students going to your campus and will ensure that you have a support network of people to go to if you have any questions.”
For those who are not first-year students, Gunn urged them to come and say hello to AUJS representatives on their campus during O-Week.
“Check out our social media to find out when yours is,” she added.
For those wanting to meet new people this year, AUJS has a range of exciting initiatives including Purim parties, balls, Yom Ha’atzmaut events, campus barbeques, games nights and challah bakes, at which “you will be sure to make friends for life,” said Gunn.
For those interested in politics, AUJS offers a range of political opportunities.
“We will give students a voice in the federal election by creating a platform for debate,” said Gunn.
“Our annual political training seminar is a highlight of our calendar by giving students direct access to some of the most influential leaders of our country. If state politics is more interesting to you, then we also have state-based seminars where you can meet state-based leaders.
“AUJS can also work to help you find a wide range of political internships with local and federal ministers.”
Those interested in leadership and development should look no further than joining an AUJS executive.
“Help provide experiences for other Jewish students and make life-long friends while you do it,” said Gunn.
“Our Susan Wakil Fellowship is a great opportunity for those wanting a year-long program that provides them with an industry-matched mentor and ways to make the world a better place.
“Make friends from all around Australia and New Zealand by participating in our Leadership Training Summit where you will receive unparalleled leadership training.
“When you think university, think AUJS. We are so excited to welcome you to campus in 2022.
First-year student event is on February 20 at 7pm. For more info on AUJS: aujs.com.au or info@aujs.com.au
