The Jewish International Film Festival returns in 2026 with over 50 new Jewish themed feature films and documentaries from around the world.
Step back in time to France in the 1980s on Opening Night with Just an Illusion, a lively, crowd-pleasing comedy about identity, friendship and growing up.
Festival highlights include James Gray’s Paper Tiger, with one screening only on Closing Night; Women on Trial starring Charlotte Gainsbourg as a Jewish lawyer at the centre of a landmark French abortion case; Tell Me Everything, winner of Best Film, Best Director and Best Screenplay at the Ophir Awards; and The Wedding Entertainer, a comedy following a disgraced badhan in Jerusalem.
A seven-film retrospective of Mel Brooks’ work celebrates his 100th birthday and distinct Jewish identity. Australian stories are highlighted with four original films spotlighting local Jewish creatives.
JIFF screens from October 18 to November 26, in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth.
