When he was only two, South Caulfield’s Zac Wolfe’s talent for golf was noticed when he won the Little Linksters’ World’s Best Kids’ Golf Swing competition, judged by the likes of Jack Nicklaus.

Fast-forward four years, and the charming, cheeky, and super talented youngster is now six, and in ‘career-best’ form.

In April, he won the Australian Junior Age Golf Championship’s U7 boys’ title at Royal Pines in the Gold Coast.

And last week, he returned home from Pinehurst Golf Club in North Carolina, fresh from not only competing in his first US Kids’ Golf World Championship, against 72 elite level 6-and-under boys’ players from around the world, but winning the title by one shot, after three rounds, over runner-up, American Alexander Armbruster.

Wolfe was accompanied by his dad Jeremy, and is a member of Huntingdale Golf Club, where he practises diligently, including many mornings before school.

Passionate about golf, he described the experience of competing in, and winning, the tournament as “something I’ll cherish forever”, and hopes to defend his title next August.
