The Jewish Climate Network podcast After the Shofar is back for its second episode, this time chatting with actress Yael Stone who is best known for her portrayal of Lorna Morello in the Netflix series Orange is the New Black

During her chat, Stone discussed Jewish identity, climate change and solutions and our future.

Producer of the podcast and programs and communications coordinator at Jewish Climate Network Elinor Hasenfratz told The AJN that since moving back to Australia, Stone “has gotten stuck in to climate solutions in her local community”.

Stone founded the organisation Hi Neighbour, which is all about using community-funded solar projects to finance scholarships for locals to train for low-carbon jobs.

On climate change Stone said, “Climate change has a wonderful opportunity in that it is open to all of us because the impacts are so universal, so intersectional that the work we do in our own spaces will have impact.”

She added, “If we all do work in our own spaces, there is likely to be a positive outcome.”

JCN is releasing one episode per week throughout the month of Elul. Listeners can tune in via the JCN website, or find it on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Google Podcasts. Or go to tinyurl.com/2ujc4np5
