Zionism Victoria president Yossi Goldfarb and executive director Zeddy Lawrence met with Victorian Opposition Leader John Pesutto at his Parliamentary offices last week.

They were joined by Deputy Leader and Member for Caulfield David Southwick.

A range of issues were discussed, including the recent state Labor vote urging the federal government to recognise a Palestinian state, rising antisemitism and how it could be combated, Zionism Victoria’s Connecting Cultures program and the politicians’ planned trip to Israel later this year.

Lawrence told The AJN, “We’re hoping to arrange a visit to the UIA-supported absorption centre that David [Southwick]’s DJ Dave revival at our Yom Ha’atzmaut concert raised funds for.

“That way they’ll be able to see firsthand the critical work undertaken by Keren Hayesod in assisting Ukrainian refugees and how we, as a community, help them.”

The DJ Dave set at Zionism Victoria’s Yom Ha’atzmaut show raised over $11,000.
