A diplomatic bar mitzvah
AUSTRALIA'S Ambassador to Israel Andrea Faulkner hosted a bar mitzvah celebration for five underprivileged Israeli boys.

AUSTRALIA’S Ambassador to Israel Andrea Faulkner hosted a bar mitzvah celebration for five underprivileged Israeli boys.
The Ambassador opened her residence to the boys from Kefar Chabad’s Or Simcha Boarding School.
“It was a pleasure to be part of marking such a unique milestone in a young boy’s life,” Faulkner said, “I was excited to see how much fun the boys had and I’m glad I had a chance to learn about Kefar Chabad’s unique work and about Jewish customs.”
The boys were presented with tefillin from Israel Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger, and with engraved pens from the ambassador.
Or Simcha was established 40 years ago to care for orphans and children whose parents cannot take care of them.
