The start of the Prophecy series

A new spin on the vampire genre

It's a novel of twists and turns, sizzling chemistry between the main characters and a truly unique storyline. It's also a novel that Gold is very proud of, and one that has received rave reviews already.

Following on from the success of her first novel Keys to my Heart, Tania Gold has written another. Telling The AJN that she always wanted to write a paranormal romance novel, when she was on maternity leave with her second child, she finally found the inspiration.

“I was feeding her while listening to Imagine Dragons and Ava Max, which gave me inspiration for the main characters and for some reason, they turned out to be vampires,” Gold recalled. “Most of the time something musical is behind the reason for my writing, I find it helps form a story.”

While Keys to my Heart was written during lockdown when Gold had a little bit more time on her hands, her new book, Prophecy of a Vampire, was written with a lot more going on in her life.

“This time it was trickier as my maternity leave ended and I went back to full-time work. I had to be more disciplined and arrange time to write after my kids went to sleep,” Gold explained. “My husband was very generous and took our children for day trips to allow me to have my quiet writing time free from distractions. As any mother can attest, there’s not much alone time with two children under three.”

Prophecy of a Vampire is the first instalment of the series following Zachary Philips and his quest for freedom as a creature of the night. For Gold, it’s a new spin on the vampire genre because the main characters begin their immortality as part of a prophecy, rather than the traditional ‘bite’.

It’s a novel of twists and turns, sizzling chemistry between the main characters and a truly unique storyline. It’s also a novel that Gold is very proud of, and one that has received rave reviews already.

So, what’s next for the author? She’s currently writing the sequel, so you won’t have to wait too long to see what happens next in the series. And she’s also working on a romantic drama.

While it’s definitely a juggle, Gold promises that it can be done, no matter what stage of life you’re in.

“For any mother who would like to follow their dreams, I know it can be hard juggling family life and work, but you never know where a hobby can take you. It’s never too late. I followed my passion, and it led me to where I am now.”

Prophecy of a Vampire is published by Wild Rose Press.
