The Australian Jewish News is hosting a special tour of the Sydney Jewish Museum’s incredible new exhibition, Reverberations: A future for memory, which brings the stories of Holocaust survivors to life using cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology.

This is a rare opportunity for AJN subscribers to go behind the scenes with the curator to learn about how this exhibition was developed and the many ways the museum is using technology to keep survivor testimony alive for generations of the future.

Reverberations is an interactive exhibition that gives a glimpse into the technologies being used to preserve the opportunity to interact with Holocaust survivors. It’s in preparation for when there are sadly no more survivors to tell their own stories. The exhibition provides an opportunity to ask questions to three digital survivors: Eddie Jaku, Olga Horak and Yvonne Engelman. Through the use of AI, they will respond to the questions in real time.

Survivors can be asked about their experiences during the Holocaust, but they can also be asked about their lives before or after the war – their likes, dislikes, opinions and perspectives about life. They will respond to questions about their favourite colour, or what they think of Vegemite.

When it comes to learning about history, nothing quite compares to having an intimate conversation with the people who were there to experience it.

The AJN is offering this exclusive tour on Thursday May 4, from 6-8pm. To book: link.sjm.com.au/ajn-event
