Ask the life coach…

SEAN BOROKOVSKY

LIKE most kids, I thought anything and everything was possible. Nothing was too much for my little-boy imagination. I would look into the blue sky and imagine that I could fly to magical places with endless fields of green grass, colorful flowers and blue oceans.

There were no boundaries or limits to the places my imagination took me. As I grew older, I learned so much. I went to school and studied math, geography, history and gradually the world around me changed…or maybe it was I who changed.

I understood that I can’t fly or swim in the deep oceans with the colorful fish. I stopped dreaming. Then cynicism — the real world — kicked in at university, work.

As the years went by and the little boy got older, found love and is now on the brink of becoming a dad. I recall the time I was a child, my dreams and the passion I had. I realized that deep inside the dreams are still alive and I want to share this with my baby girl.

I want her to dream, as I did, to have hopes and ambitions. And as she grows up, I want to share her aspirations, give her the courage to believe in herself and help her transform her dreams into reality.

At that moment everything changed at that moment I understood that maybe we can’t fly or swim with the fish but we can still dream and when we dream we are inspired and when that happened the sky’s the limit.

I made a decision. I decided that everything is possible and all our dreams can come true, if we just have the courage to pursue them.

And while I’m being embarrassingly honest about my private life, I should admit that my hopes for my daughter are not merely pie in the sky. I’m lucky enough to be qualified to do this. I’m a life coach.

My business -— my great privilege and pleasure -— is to empower people by giving them confidence in themselves, improving their self-esteem, and then helping them to define their goals and create strategies to achieve those goals. My business is to help people enjoy a fulfilled life.

The reality is that most people have no clear idea about who they are, who they want to be, what they want or how they can get there. They live their lives in reaction to events around them in the hope that, somehow, things will “work themselves out”. They might, but they probably won’t unless active steps are taken to ensure they do.

The AJN has generously invited me to reach out and offer assistance to you, the readers, through this blog. My aim is to help you understand what’s really important in your life, what’s missing, and then give you the confidence to fill those gaps and achieve your goals.

You can write to me privately through my website and I will respond through the blog on this site. Of course, I will never betray your confidences or divulge your identity. This means that my responses will not relate specifically to your unique circumstances, but I will be able to give general, practical advice on a range of issues: how you can improve your self-esteem, gain confidence, deal with colleagues at work, improve your personal relations, deal with loss — of a relationship, a job, a friend or family member.

In addition, I will — when possible — deal with your specific needs through private message to your mailbox. So let’s start the conversation. You can reach me through my website: www.corenergy.com.au. I look forward to hearing from you. And to helping you transform your dreams into reality. It could be the start of the greatest adventure of your life.

On a final note… when Moses arrived at the promise land after 40 years of walking in the dessert, he was prohibited from entering.  I want you guys not only to set up goals but actually reach out and achieve them.
