AUJS’s new podcast
The AUJS Pod brings together diverse voices from across the globe to speak about issues that impact and interest Jewish students.
The Australasian Union of Jewish Students (AUJS) has launched a podcast – The AUJS Pod.
The aim of the podcast is to bring together diverse voices from across the globe to speak about issues which impact and interest Jewish students.
“With BDS and other anti-Israel and antisemitic groups on campuses across Australia, many Jews can feel intimidated hosting Zionist or Israeli speakers. The fear of widespread peer condemnation, and safety concerns, can lead to a decrease in the nuance and variation of our dialogue about Zionist and Jewish issues,” said AUJS advocacy and communications coordinator Paris Enten, who will co-host the podcast with Monash Jewish Student Society political officer Noah Loven.
“That is why AUJS has created The AUJS Pod – a place which gives students the opportunity to hear about the most pressing issues impacting Jewish youth.”
Three episodes were made available late last month.
“The Faces and Narratives of the Israel-Palestine Conflict” featured coexistence advocate Ittay Flescher discussing the many narratives of the conflict.
Human rights activist and Jewish communal leader Mary Kluk was the guest on “Diaspora Communities: South Africa” while on “The Tragic History of the Romanian Community”, AUJS spoke with Jewish Diplomatic Corps founding member Andrei Schwartz.
“Going forward, we will be discussing issues which impact us as Jewish students, including free speech, LGBTQIA+ rights, and climate change,” Enten said.
The AUJS Pod is available on a number of platforms, including Spotify, iHeart, Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts.
