Beth Weizmann Community Centre is going green with the installation of solar panel systems.
Chairperson of Beth Weizmann Sam Tatarka told The AJN that Beth Weizmann is “thrilled” by the progression of this environmental initiative.
It is currently in the first phase of its move to a greener future by installing one of two solar panel systems that will meet the majority of its electrical consumption needs. The first system was installed on Tuesday and the rest are to be installed in the coming months.
The first phase of the project involved a government funded energy audit, and Beth Weizmann then applied for a solar grant.
“With the assistance of a grant from the Victorian government and the generous contribution from the team at G-Store we will be able to deliver significant and ongoing savings to all of the members of our centre in the medium to long term by substantially reducing our reliance on mains power,” Tatarka said.
