Bianca Dye is back where many Australians first fell in love with her, behind the breakfast radio microphone.

The veteran broadcaster has been confirmed as one of the latest guest hosts joining KIIS FM Breakfast alongside Mike ‘E’ Etheridge, as the network continues rolling out a rotating lineup of personalities across the national show.

For Dye, the guest role marks another major moment in a radio career spanning almost three decades, with stints across Nova, Triple M and regional stations, as well as regular appearances on Australian television.

Speaking about returning to KIIS FM, Dye said the opportunity felt particularly meaningful because she had surprisingly never previously broadcast in her hometown market.

“After 32 years in broadcasting … it feels really bloody cool to be back in a studio doing what I LOVE most,” Dye is quoted as saying in The Daily Telegraph.

The Melbourne-born presenter is no stranger to high-profile radio slots. She became a recognisable voice during her years at Nova 96.9 before later hosting programs in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, building a loyal audience with her candid and often chaotic storytelling style.

But beyond the on-air persona, Dye also comes from a deeply Jewish family background.

She is the daughter of Australian entertainer Issi Dye, born Israel Dyzenhaus, whose family survived the Holocaust before settling in Australia after World War II. Dye has previously spoken about the impact her family history has had on her outlook and resilience.

She attended Melbourne’s Mount Scopus Memorial College before moving to Queensland as a teenager.

In recent years, Dye has become increasingly open about her personal life, discussing everything from anxiety and relationships to IVF and ageing in the public eye. That honesty has helped her maintain relevance in an industry that constantly reinvents itself.

Earlier this year, Dye also appeared on The Golden Bachelor Australia, where she quickly became one of the more talked-about contestants thanks to her humour and unfiltered approach to dating.

The KIIS FM role comes during a period of experimentation for the network, with a string of guest presenters filling spots. Media reports have described the changing lineup as an opportunity to test different personalities and audience reactions.

According to Radio Today, Dye’s appointment generated strong audience interest online, particularly among listeners who remembered her earlier breakfast radio years.

For longtime fans, the move feels like a natural fit.

Dye built much of her career on conversational radio, sharing personal stories, oversharing at times, and creating the feeling listeners were catching up with a friend rather than hearing a polished presenter.

That style has carried across generations of Australian radio audiences and helped her remain a familiar media figure even as the industry has shifted around her.

Now, with a seat once again at a national breakfast desk, Dye is stepping back into the fast-paced world that made her famous in the first place.
