Beth Rivkah in the giving spirit

A total of $10,192 has been raised by Beth Rivkah secondary school students across entry payment, takings from the bargain bazaar and raffle ticket sales.

The Beth Rivkah fundraising team.

Beth Rivkah’s tzedakah captains and Big Deal committee members pulled together a Big Deal bargain bazaar and carnival late last year.

Families from across the community joined the carnival fun enjoying games, activity booths and food stations plus hands-on encounters with reptiles and even a mobile butterfly house.

Beth Rivkah secondary school students spearheaded the organisation of the fundraiser.

Supported and guided by staff, the students coordinated all aspects of the event, ranging from a clothing donation drive, sorting and categorising clothing, and arranging activities, food, craft stations and raffle prizes.

Sales of pre-loved clothing, books and homewares at the bazaar offered quality bargains and raffle tickets, popcorn and hotdogs were on offer to round out the carnival fun.

A total of $10,192 was raised across entry payment, takings from the bargain bazaar and raffle ticket sales.

These funds will be donated directly to Israeli charity Shalva, supporting individuals with special needs.

Shalva provides an all-encompassing range of services for thousands of people with disabilities from infancy to adulthood and their families.

The money raised will help support Shalva’s programs that provide leading-edge therapies, inclusive educational frameworks, social and recreational activities, employment training, as well as independent living.
