AJAX will be well represented in the Moorabbin Saints Junior Football League finals on the weekend, with several teams winning through.
The under-11 Jets are through to the grand final after beating St Peters Red by just two points in a heart-stopper, while the under-12 Comets had an easier path to its decider, comfortably accounting for Murrumbeena, which was restricted to a solitary goal for the day. The sides will play St Pauls and Prahran respectively.
In the under-13 competition, AJAX side the Comets smashed Hampton, with an even team performance, and will battle it out for the flag against Oakleigh Green on Sunday. It was another big win for AJAX’s under-15 side, which routed St Kilda by a whopping 61 points in its semifinal. The side will play Ormond on Sunday for a spot in the grand final.
The under-16 side has earned a week off and a grand final berth after outclassing Waverly Park. And it might have been worse for Waverley had AJAX kicked straight, the side booting a wasteful 11.23 in tough conditions. There will be plenty of action Le Page Park this weekend, with the under-11, under-12 and under-13 grand finals all set to take place at the Cheltenham venue.
