Stories that stir

Brand new storytelling evening launching this week

An in-person event sharing extraordinary stories that are sure to move you.

Stories that Stir is a brand-new bi-monthly storytelling in-person event, being held at Sydney’s Entertainment Quarter.

Each evening, six speakers will be given 10 minutes to share their extraordinary story. Evenings are separated into topics, and this week, it’s all about love.

Launching on February 17, our speakers will be sharing their stories based around love, in all its shapes and forms.

Comedian, Professional Speaker and PR agency owner, Monica Rosenfeld, creator of Stories that Stir said: “I have always been captivated by storytelling, whether it’s in the form of a book, movie, podcast interview or my sharing my own stories in my keynote presentations and when I perform stand-up comedy.  I was inspired to create this event to use stories to break down barriers, stir conversation and inspire positive change.

The stories are sure to inspire you, making you “laugh, cry and view the world in a different light.”

To ensure everyone can be part of the experience, the bi-monthly live events will be transformed into a podcast for listeners to enjoy.

The first event on love will feature:

  • Samantha Leith – getting up close and personal about her transformative journey to discovering that sex is much more than just a tool on the path to love. Expect laughter, tears, and to be challenged to re-evaluate what sex and love means to you.
  • Danny Shannon – after a challenging heroin addiction, Danny has now been clean for 15 years and is sharing his moving story of how the 12-Step-Fellowship loved him back to life.
  • Sam Menzies – a comedian with a wealth of life experience, especially in failure. For all of those who love a proposal story, Sam has 10 that will keep you laughing.
  • Natalie Simon – through her vulnerable and bold poetry, Natalie will share her unexpected experiences with separation, death and love.
  • Richie Harkham – as a serial entrepreneur and philanthropist, Richie’s story will move and inspire you beyond your imagination.
  • Julie Randall – after having a life-changing brain seizure, being diagnosed with incurable cancer and given only months to live, Julie found an untapped potential in herself that has helped her to stay alive against all odds.

Tickets are now on sale for the opening night show of Stories that Stir – LOVE on February 17 at the ART T Gallery, Entertainment Quarter, Moore Park.
